HGV Class 2 Night Driver – Walsall – £16.50 Per Hour

People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Night Drivers to join our well-established client based in Walsall and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £16.50 per hour, enhanced overtime rates of £18.00 per hour, consistent Monday to Friday night shifts, weekly pay and immediate starts, with ongoing work and long-term career opportunities.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Rigid Lorry Driver, Night Delivery Driver or Multi-Drop Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
 • Night shifts
 • Start times between 5:00pm and 6:00pm
 • Ongoing work available

Rates of Pay

 • £16.50 per hour – basic rate
 • £18.00 per hour – overtime rate
 • Weekly PAYE pay
 • Holiday pay accrued separately

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Night Driver, your duties will include:

 • Safely operating Category C vehicles to and from delivery locations
 • Completing multi-drop deliveries during night shifts
 • Loading and unloading vehicles safely and accurately
 • Assisting with handball duties where required
 • Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
 • Completing delivery paperwork accurately
 • Communicating effectively with transport teams, customers and site staff
 • Following all road traffic legislation and company safety procedures
 • Ensuring compliance with Drivers’ Hours Regulations and working time legislation

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Night Driver, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category C Driving Licence
 • Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
 • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
 • No more than six penalty points for minor driving offences
 • No IN, DR, DD or CD driving convictions
 • Good understanding of driver compliance and road safety regulations
 • Excellent communication and customer service skills
 • Reliable, professional and punctual approach to work
 • Willingness to undertake multi-drop deliveries and handball duties where required

Desirable Experience

 • Previous HGV Class 2 driving experience
 • Experience completing multi-drop deliveries
 • Previous experience working night shifts
 • Experience with loading, unloading and manual handling

Training Provided

 • Full training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
