HGV Class 2 Driver – Widnes, Cheshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Widnes, Cheshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, Sunday to Thursday working, and long-term stability with a leading company in the industry.

This role would particularly suit applicants with previous experience as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Truck Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £19.79 per hour
• Weekly pay

Shift Pattern:

• Sunday to Thursday
• Start times between 18:00 and 19:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will work:

• Driving Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently on Sunday to Thursday shifts
• Completing between 5 and 12 product deliveries to stores across the UK each day
• Ensuring all loads are maintained at the correct temperatures and are safe and secure throughout transit
• Safely unloading cages using a tail lift and delivering into stores
• Completing all required paperwork accurately

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

• A minimum of 24 months’ experience driving Category C vehicles
• A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
• A valid CPC Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no DR10, DG10, IN10, or TT99 endorsements)
• No major endorsement codes
• Strong customer service skills

Desirable Experience:

• Multi-drop store delivery experience
• Previous experience within a retail distribution environment
• Experience operating tail lifts
• Experience completing temperature-controlled deliveries

Training:

• First-day driving assessment
• Training provided as and when required
• Ongoing industry-related training and support throughout your assignment
