HGV Class 1 Driver – Broxburn – £19 Per Hour – 4 On 4 Off

People Solutions are currently recruiting for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our well-established food distribution client based in Broxburn.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £19.00 per hour PAYE, holiday pay accrued separately, a £31.20 overnight allowance, ongoing work and overtime availability. You will be joining a busy transport operation completing bulk deliveries and collections across designated routes.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver or HGV Delivery Driver.

Shifts

 • Four on, four off rota
 • Start times between 6:00am and 12:00 noon
 • Overtime available

Rates of Pay

 • £19.00 per hour PAYE
 • Holiday pay accrued separately
 • £31.20 overnight allowance

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

 • Completing bulk deliveries and collections across designated routes
 • Driving Category CE articulated vehicles safely and efficiently
 • Loading and unloading goods at certain delivery points
 • Ensuring loads are correctly secured before transportation
 • Completing pre-shift and post-shift vehicle checks
 • Following planned routes and delivery schedules
 • Completing delivery paperwork accurately
 • Maintaining regular communication with the transport team
 • Complying with Drivers’ Hours, Tachograph and Road Traffic Regulations
 • Providing a professional service to customers

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
 • Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
 • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
 • Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
 • Good communication skills
 • Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach
 • Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Tachograph Regulations
 • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience

 • Previous food distribution or bulk delivery experience
 • Experience completing deliveries and collections across multiple locations

Training Provided

 • Driver assessment required before starting
 • Paid site induction
 • Industry-related training
 • Ongoing support throughout your assignment
