FLT Forklift Driver – Van Driver – Wishaw

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced FLT Forklift Driver / Van Driver to join our well-established client based in Wishaw.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering an immediate start, Monday to Friday working and weekly pay within a busy warehouse and distribution environment.

The role will be mainly FLT based, however candidates must also be comfortable carrying out van driving duties when required.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an FLT Driver, Counterbalance Driver, Reach Truck Driver, Warehouse Operative, Van Driver or Distribution Operative.

Rates of Pay:

  • Days – £14.50 per hour
  • Nights – £15.50 per hour
  • Weekly pay every Friday

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 04:00 start
  • Finish around 13:00 approximately
  • Minimum of 2 weeks’ work

Immediate start available

Candidates must be able to reliably travel to the Wishaw site for a 04:00 start

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an FLT / Van Driver, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Operating Counterbalance Forklift Trucks safely
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Moving stock safely throughout the warehouse
  • Picking and preparing goods for dispatch
  • Putting stock away into the correct warehouse locations
  • Moving pallets and materials around site
  • Carrying out general warehouse duties when required
  • Carrying out van driving duties when required
  • Completing local deliveries and collections
  • Loading and unloading the van safely
  • Checking goods against paperwork before leaving site
  • Completing delivery paperwork accurately
  • Carrying out basic vehicle checks before use
  • Reporting any vehicle, FLT or equipment defects promptly
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working area
  • Following all site Health & Safety procedures
  • Supporting the wider warehouse and distribution team where required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an FLT / Van Driver, you will need:

  • A valid RTITB Counterbalance FLT licence
  • Previous Counterbalance Forklift experience
  • Previous warehouse or distribution experience
  • A valid UK Category B Driving Licence
  • Have held your driving licence for a minimum of 2 years
  • No more than 6 penalty points for minor offences only
  • No IN, DR, DD or CD endorsements will be accepted
  • Be comfortable carrying out van driving duties when required
  • Be confident operating FLT equipment within a busy warehouse environment
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety procedures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual and professional
  • Able to follow instructions and site procedures
  • Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling duties
  • Able to commit to Monday to Friday working
  • Able to reliably travel to Wishaw for a 04:00 start
  • Available to start immediately

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience working within a busy warehouse or distribution centre
  • Previous experience as an FLT Driver, Warehouse Operative or Van Driver
  • Previous experience operating both Counterbalance and Reach Forklift Trucks.
  • Previous commercial van driving experience
  • Previous local delivery or collection experience
  • Previous experience loading and unloading vehicles

Training Provided:

  • Training provided for an FLT / Van Driver:
  • Site-specific Health & Safety training
  • Familiarisation with warehouse processes and procedures
  • Training on site-specific equipment and systems
  • Registration and compliance completed through People Solutions prior to starting
  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
