CNC Setter / Programmer – Walsall

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer to join our well-established client based in Walsall.

This is a fantastic permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary, regular daytime working hours, an early Friday finish and additional earning potential through overtime within an established engineering and manufacturing business.

£39,500–£43,500 Per Annum | Permanent Position | Monday to Friday | 1:30pm Friday Finish | Overtime Available

This position would suit applicants who have previously worked as a CNC Setter, CNC Programmer, CNC Setter / Operator or CNC Machinist with proven setting and programming experience.

Shifts

 • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
 • Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm
 • Early finish every Friday
 • Overtime available

Rates of Pay

 • £39,500–£43,500 per annum
 • Salary dependent on experience and skill level
 • Additional earning potential through overtime

Day-to-Day Duties

 • Setting and programming CNC machinery
 • Producing components accurately to engineering specifications
 • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
 • Setting tools and making necessary machine adjustments
 • Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods
 • Carrying out dimensional and quality checks on completed components
 • Monitoring machining processes and making adjustments where required
 • Identifying and resolving machining or tooling issues
 • Ensuring components are manufactured to required tolerances
 • Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
 • Working safely and following all relevant health and safety procedures

Essential Skills

 • Previous experience as a CNC Setter / Programmer
 • Strong CNC machining experience
 • Ability to confidently set and programme CNC machinery
 • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
 • Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and tolerances
 • Ability to work accurately to specifications
 • Strong attention to detail
 • Good problem-solving skills
 • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 • Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
