Retail Assistant – Doncaster

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Retail Assistant to join our well-established client based in Doncaster.

This position is ideal for applicants who have previously worked as a Retail Assistant, Shop Assistant, Sales Assistant, Customer Service Assistant or Pet Store Assistant, particularly those with a passion for animals and dogs.

Shifts

 • Monday to Sunday – 2–3 days per week
 • Working hours: 10:00am – 7:00pm
 • Flexible rota

Rates of Pay

 • £12.71 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Retail Assistant, your duties will include:

 • Meeting and greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner
 • Providing excellent customer service and building rapport with customers
 • Developing product knowledge to assist customers with their purchases
 • Operating tills and handling customer transactions
 • Answering customer queries and providing product information
 • Replenishing stock and maintaining shop floor displays
 • Assisting with deliveries and stock management

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Retail Assistant, you will need:

 • Previous customer service experience
 • A genuine passion for animals, particularly dogs
 • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 • A friendly, approachable and customer-focused attitude
 • Availability to work flexible shifts across Monday to Sunday

Desirable Experience

 • Previous experience operating tills or handling customer transactions
 • Experience working within a pet shop or pet supplies environment
 • Previous retail or sales assistant experience

Training Provided

 • Full training provided to support you in your role
