Guillotine Operator (Sheet Metal) – Govan, Glasgow

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Guillotine Operator to join our well-established client based in Govan, Glasgow.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, Monday to Friday working hours, and genuine opportunities for long-term career progression within a busy manufacturing environment.

This would suit applicants who have worked as a Sheet Metal Worker, Metal Fabricator, or Machine Operator.

Rates of Pay:

  • Up to £13.50 per hour, depending on experience

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:45
  • Friday: 08:00 – 15:00
  • No weekend working

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Guillotine Operator are:

  • Operating sheet metal guillotine machinery, including Amada equipment
  • Cutting aluminium, stainless steel, and other sheet metal products
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and job specifications
  • Measuring and cutting materials accurately to required dimensions
  • Using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Inspecting finished products to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met
  • Handling and moving metal sheets safely
  • Following all company health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Guillotine Operator, you will need:

  • Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication, metal cutting, or a similar manufacturing environment
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Good measuring skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence operating industrial machinery
  • The ability to handle and manoeuvre metal sheets safely
  • A reliable attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
