Factory Operative – Irlam, Manchester
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Factory Operative to join our well-established client based in Irlam, Greater Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression within a reputable manufacturing business.
This would suit applicants who have worked as an Assembly Operative, Production Operative or Manufacturing Operative.
Rates of Pay:
- AM Shift: £13.68 per hour
- PM Shift: £14.34 per hour
- Night Shift: £15.00 per hour
- £12.28 weekly attendance bonus
Shift Pattern:
- Rotating shifts on a weekly basis
- Candidates must be able to work all shift patterns
Week One:
- Monday to Friday
- 06:00 – 14:00
Week Two:
- Monday to Friday
- 14:00 – 22:00
Week Three:
- Sunday to Thursday
- 22:00 – 06:00

Day-to-Day Duties:
Your duties as a Factory Operative are:
- Manufacturing a range of fire prevention products in line with company specifications and quality standards
- Following all health and safety procedures and site regulations at all times
- Carrying out production tasks including palletising finished products, bagging products, and assembling small components
- Fitting rubber washers to sprinklers and other assembly duties as required
- Conducting visual quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
- Reporting any hazards, defects, or safety concerns to management promptly
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines
- Complying with all company policies and site rules
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties as assigned by management
Essential Skills:
To be successful as a Factory Operative, you will need:
- Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
- The ability to carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving materials
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow work instructions accurately
- A team-focused approach with the ability to work collaboratively
- The ability to work rotating shifts
- Good communication skills
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Adaptability and a proactive attitude
- A strong work ethic and excellent eye for detail
- Availability to start work as soon as possible
Training:
- Full company policy and procedure training
- Full paid site induction before starting
- Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
