Production / Assembly Technician

People Solutions are currently recruiting for Production / Assembly Technicians to join our well-established client based in Kilworth, Leicestershire.  This is a fantastic opportunity, offering great rates of pay, consistent Monday to Friday working (static days) with room to develop and progress within a busy manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for practical, hands-on individuals who enjoy assembling precision products, working with their hands and maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the assembly, testing, inspection and packaging of products and associated electronic assemblies. The role requires excellent attention to detail, a methodical approach and the ability to follow manufacturing instructions and quality procedures.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an Manufacturing Technician, Service Technician or Test Technician

Shifts: Monday – Friday: 08.30am – 17.00pm (1 hr lunch) / alternative hours also available Monday – Thursday: 08.30am 17.00pm and Friday 08.30am – 2.30pm (half hour lunch) – static days

Pay rate: £13.50 – £15.50 per hour (DOE)

Day to Day Duties

As a Production / Assembly Technician, your duties will be, but not limited to:

Assembly & Manufacturing

• Assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical products using hand tools and assembly fixtures.
• Use of screwdrivers, torque drivers and other hand tools to complete product assembly.
• Applying adhesives, thermal interface materials, sealants and other specialist materials in accordance with manufacturing procedures.
• Preparation and assembly of components to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Wiring, cable preparation, sleeving and termination of electrical assemblies.
• Soldering of electronic and electrical components where required.

Testing & Inspection

• Carrying out visual inspections of components and finished products.
• Performing functional testing using standard test procedures and equipment.
• Recording production and quality data accurately.
• Identifying and reporting defects, non-conformances or process issues.

Production Support

• Packing and labelling finished goods for dispatch.
• Maintaining organised workstations and production areas.
• Assisting with stock control and component management.
• Supporting continuous improvement activities within production.

Health, Safety & Quality

• Working safely at all times and following company procedures.
• Maintaining high quality standards throughout all manufacturing operations.
• Ensuring products are assembled and tested to specification.
• Supporting ISO and quality management requirements as required.

Essential Skills

Skills needed to be a Production / Assembly Technician  with our client are:

• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written work instructions and assembly procedures.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Previous manufacturing or production experience.

• Experience of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).

Training

• Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
