HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver – Runcorn

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Runcorn.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing assignments, weekly pay, overtime opportunities, immediate starts, a paid induction, and genuine long-term opportunities with a leading logistics business.

New passes are welcome, as full training will be provided on site.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £18.22 per hour Monday to Friday
• £21.00 per hour Saturday
• £22.00 per hour Sunday

Shift Pattern:

Your shift pattern as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver will be:

• 4 on 4 off
• 7:00pm to 7:00am

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver are:

• Completing yard shunting duties and vehicle movements around the site
• Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out unit movements on the yard
• Ensuring the yard is kept clean and tidy
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
• Assisting with loading and unloading where required
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
• A valid Driver CPC Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No DR10, DG10, IN10, or TT99 endorsement codes
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• A good understanding of UK road traffic legislation
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Training:

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-week paid induction following a successful assessment
• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
