General Operative – Grimethorpe

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a General Operative to join our well-established client based in Grimethorpe, Barnsley. 

This is a full-time position offering ongoing work and the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Working within a busy production and warehouse environment, you will be responsible for supporting daily operations while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Warehouse Operative, Production Operative or Packing Operative.

Rates of Pay:

• £12.71 per hour

Shift Pattern:

As a General Operative, you will work:

• Monday to Friday
• 08:00 to 16:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a General Operative are:

• Packing foam kits
• Lifting and handling foam products
• Quality checking finished products
• Working on a gluing line
• Completing general warehouse duties
• Training on a variety of machines and equipment

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a General Operative, you will need:

• Previous experience in a distribution or warehouse environment
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance
• The ability to work to targets
• A full valid driving licence
• A positive and reliable attitude
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable Experience:

To be successful as a General Operative, it would be beneficial if you have:

• Previous warehouse experience
• Previous general operative experience
• Experience working within a production environment

Training:

As a General Operative, you will receive:

• Full training before commencing work
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
• Training on various machines and equipment
