DRIVER’S MATE – CRICK, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE – £13.50 PER HOUR – £14.50 ONCE PERMANENT

People Solutions are currently recruiting for Driver’s Mates to join our well-established client based in Crick, Northamptonshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £13.50 per hour, increasing to £14.50 per hour once permanent, Monday to Friday working, weekly pay and genuine long-term opportunities within a busy logistics environment.

£13.50 PER HOUR | £14.50 ONCE PERMANENT | MONDAY TO FRIDAY | LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITY

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Driver’s Mate, Delivery Assistant, Van Driver, Delivery Driver or Courier Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
 • Alternating 06:00 and 08:00 start times

Rates of Pay

 • £13.50 per hour
 • £14.50 per hour once permanent

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Driver’s Mate, your duties will include:

 • Working alongside a Driver to deliver goods to customers’ homes
 • Loading and unloading vehicles safely
 • Contacting customers with updates on estimated arrival times
 • Removing and disposing of packaging from deliveries
 • Following all health and safety procedures at all times

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Driver’s Mate, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category B Driving Licence due to progression into a Driver role once permanent
 • Good communication and customer service skills
 • A reliable and punctual approach to work
 • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
 • The ability to undertake the physical aspects of loading, unloading and home deliveries

Desirable Experience

 • Previous Driver’s Mate or home delivery experience
 • Previous customer-facing delivery experience

Training Provided

 • Full company induction and training provided prior to starting
 • Ongoing support throughout your assignment
