Sewing Machinist – Salford

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Sewing Machinist to join our well-established client in Salford on a full-time basis.

This would suit applicants who have worked as a Sewing Operator, Industrial Sewing Machinist or Textile Operative.

Rates of Pay:

• £13.00 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Thursday: 08:15 – 16:45
• Friday : 08:15 – 14:30

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Sewing Machinist are:

• Setting up and running machines to ensure optimum efficiency
• Operating industrial sewing machines within a fast-paced production environment
• Carrying out twin needle sewing, top sewing, flat sewing, and over-locking
• Ensuring an adequate stock of materials is available to maintain productivity
• Keeping the work area clean and tidy at all times
• Reporting defective machine parts promptly
• Following all company procedures and health and safety regulations

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Sewing Machinist, you will need:

• Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist or in a similar role
• The ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
• A committed attitude towards continuous improvement activities such as 5S and lean production
• Good communication skills and a positive approach to work

Training:

• Full training will be provided on site
• Continued development and progression opportunities
