HGV Class 1 Driver – Hyde, Manchester

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Hyde, Manchester.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work:

Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
Delivering food products to store locations
Ensuring all loads are safely secured before departure
Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Reporting vehicle defects or issues promptly
Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
Completing all required paperwork and electronic records accurately

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
A valid Digital Tachograph Card
A minimum of two years’ HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred
No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10, or DD10 endorsements)
Strong communication and customer service skills
A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work
