HGV Class 1 Driver – Daventry – Earn up to £23.00 per hour | Weekly Pay | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities | Immediate Starts | Newer Passes Welcome (6 Months’ Experience)

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Daventry, Northamptonshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, immediate starts, and genuine temporary to permanent opportunities with a well-established logistics business.

New passes with a minimum of six months’ Class 1 driving experience are welcome to apply.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• Monday to Friday: £19.00 per hour
• Saturday: £20.00 per hour
• Sunday: £23.00 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Sunday
• Start times between 03:00 and 12:00
• Weekend work available

Day-to-Day Duties:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will work:

• Completing store deliveries
• Unloading pallets of stock and delivering them into stores
• Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
• Ensuring loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations
• Following planned delivery schedules and routes efficiently
• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
• Maintaining accurate delivery records and paperwork
• Providing a professional level of customer service at delivery locations

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
• A minimum of six months’ Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• Good communication skills
• A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work

Training:

• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support throughout your assignment
• Previous commercial Class 1 driving experience would be advantageous
• Experience working within a fast-paced transport or logistics operation would be beneficial
