Yard Operative – East Midlands Gateway

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join our well-established client based at East Midlands Gateway.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £15.38 per hour, Monday to Friday shifts, no weekend work, weekly pay, overtime opportunities, immediate starts, and ongoing training with a well-established employer.

This role would suit candidates who have previously worked as a Yard Operative, Warehouse Operative, or Yard Assistant and are looking to develop their skills within a busy transport yard environment.

Rates of Pay:

 • £15.38 per hour
 • Weekly pay

Shift Pattern:

 • Monday to Friday
 • 18:00 start time
 • 1-hour break

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Yard Operative are:

 • Loading and unloading vehicles by hand, with a focus on safely handling and moving heavy stock
 • Working with items weighing 25kg and above, using appropriate assistance or handling equipment where required
 • Sorting, organising, and transporting stock to designated storage areas within the transport yard
 • Preparing stock for client use, ensuring all items are clean, presentable, and in good condition before dispatch
 • Assisting with the safe movement and positioning of materials and equipment around the yard and storage areas
 • Securing and strapping loads correctly to ensure goods are safely prepared for transportation
 • Working within a busy transport yard environment and following all relevant health and safety procedures
 • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
 • Assisting customers and clients with general enquiries in a professional and helpful manner
 • Following safe manual handling procedures when moving heavy or bulky items
 • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by the company

Essential Skills:
