At People Solutions Group we are committed to making a difference and having a positive impact on the communities we work in. As part of this commitment we have a longstanding relationship with three charities: Acorns Children’s Hospice, Jump and CALM.
About our chosen charities
Acorns Children’s Hospice operates three hospices one in Walsall, Worcester and Birmingham. Founded in 1988, Acorns provides palliative care and support for children with life limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. Last year they cared for 876 children and supported 1097 families across the Midlands.
Jump was established in March 2004 and works with children with life threatening health conditions to enable them to capture special and unique memories for themselves and their loved ones.
CALM (Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement) is a charity which is run by parents who have all experienced what it is like to have a child diagnosed with cancer. CALM helps families that have a child receiving treatment at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, Wiltshire. It is a voluntary charity with no paid employees and receives no funding from the NHS so the charity relies on fundraising.
Halloween was the perfect excuse to carry out some activities across all of our businesses to raise vital funds for these three great causes. A range of different Halloween themed activities took place including cake bakes and colouring competitions as well as a competition organised by the team DriverForce. Staff simply had to guess how many pumpkins were featured in the picture.
Entry was just a £1 and the winner of the £50 Amazon voucher was Stephanie Farrell from Mainline.
Our Halloween activities were part of a wider series of events and activities to raise funds for our chosen charities. We will be continuing our fundraising efforts and hope to raise even more, follow us on social media for regular news and updates on our fundraising efforts.
